Have you ever wondered how much a radical means in Chinese? Take the “Ice” radical, for example. It has only two strokes and looks like two drops of water \u2013 \u51ab<\/strong>.  This radical captures the characteristics of water and its ability to freeze. It usually appears on the left side of a character, but sometimes it is at the bottom. The most well-known example is \u51ac (d\u014dng), meaning “winter.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
