One easy way is words classification. For example:

You can use the above picture and add some related words, such as 电视、锅、剃须刀、字典、镜子、毛巾、刀、冰箱、微波炉、沙发、电脑、书橱 and 台灯.Classify these words and fill in the table.Review this kind of words pictures, then you will increase the vocabulary quickly.

You may go to the Amazon bookstore to buy the book “Chinese for Beginners” by M. Wond. It tells you how to  watch a lot of Chinese animated cartoons without any charge. It is a very useful book. You would be crazy for the videos recommended therein.

To increase your vocabulary beyond your textbooks, you can use songs or movies. Refer to the articles here How To Learn Chinese Using Songs to help you learn more vocabularies through songs.
